This is a photo of the progress on our front porch columns. This has been an area of debate this week. I have always envisioned big fat chunky columns. I didn't make this clear enough early enough, so its kinda too late now with out ripping stuff out to make them chunkier. Once they are wrapped, they will be about 12 inches and ideally, I would like about 14-15. Since we ended up with 9ft ceilings instead of 10 (by choice), I think the smaller ones are going to look fine. I may always wish they were chunkier, but its not orth all the cost in changing for a couple inches. I am excited however that they are custom building them to save us some money. Who know that ordering square columns from a manufacturer would be $800 a piece!!! Round is only $200 for the same size. Hmmmm....from where I come from, square is easier to construct, but maybe it's a supply and demand thing.

This shows the completed roofing and whirlybirds.

This photo is a good view of the front elevation. The dormer windows have been built and all of the windows are in (except dormers). Next will come the front door, then brick, then completion of the columns. There will be stucco on the covered area of the front porch and shutters on each window. We met with the electrician today to discuss outside lighting and it's going to look great.

Just another angle of the front.

This shows the back covered patio with the family room windows and bay window. To the right of hte bay window is a door that goes into the kitchen and on the side wall to theleft of the family room window wall is a door to the master bath. This will be a fun place to hang out with family and friends.
